Tom Mertz and TradeNet employees praised for supporting local schools
The Gardner-Edgerton, Kan., school district recognized TradeNet Publishing as “Business of the Quarter” at recent meeting of its board of education. Several times during the school year the district recognizes an area business that has provided support and service to students and staff of the school district.
Interim Superintendent Pam Stranathan made special mention of Tom Mertz, TradeNet President & CEO, for his ongoing support of the operations of the school district. Tom also served on the Gardner-Edgerton Board of Education from 1999 to 2003.
Among the “few contributions” made by TradeNet as mentioned by Supt. Stranathan:
Printed GEHS graduation and music programs.
Donated huge rolls of paper for GEHS art classes.
Provided posters and magnets to support various academic and activity initiatives throughout the district.
Provided “Ridge Rumble” programs at Wheatridge Middle School.
Helped support the GEHS Sports literature class with a grant enabling the purchase of books.
Printed our Blazers Against Distracted Driving posters and key tags.
Publishes copies of the District Writing Club book each year for grades K-8.
“We would like to thank Mr. Mertz, along with TradeNet employees, for their continued support to our school district,” said Supt. Stranathan. “It is community-based businesses like TradeNet who go above and beyond for the benefit of our students.”
TradeNet praised in new SAAC Times featured column
Let’s keep this part of the story short. We’d rather you spend time reading the “Testimonial Corner” as published in the February 2014 issue of the SAAC Times. The monthly SAAC (Specialty Advertising Association of California) publication has initiated a column in which contributors write about positive experiences with others in the industry.
First on the list of contributors is Jay Berger of Los Angeles-based Innovative Marketing. Wow! Thanks, Jay, for the kind words!
Well-known St. Louis distributor inducted into PPAI Hall of Fame
TradeNet was honored to have a distinguished gentleman stop by our booth at the recent PPAI Expo in Las Vegas. Don Lafferre, owner of Priority Promotions, visited his TradeNet friends before his induction later in the day as the newest member of the PPAI Hall of Fame.
The PPAI Hall of Fame honors leaders in the promotional products industry who have had an impact in the industry and their communities. Don has worked for more than 62 years supporting the progress and success of the industry, including as a member of the PPAI Board of Directors. Since 1985, he has owned and operated Priority Promotions in Florissant, Mo.
TradeNet extends sincere congratulation to Don for his well-deserved recognition in the PPAI Hall of Fame. It’s a Memo Board moment for sure!
TradeNet’s Slinky® Notes voted “Most Fun” at ASI Orlando Show Product Showcase
There’s something about a Slinky® toy that puts a smile on people’s faces. Obviously the same is true for TradeNet’s version of the Slinky® brand, our variety being in the form of Adhesive Notes. Slinky® Adhesive Notes were voted winners of the “Most Fun” category in the popular Product Showcase at the recent ASI Show in Orlando.
Helping the Slinky® Notes stand out from the scores of unique promotional products on display in the ASI showcase is a mechanical device that actually demonstrates how Slinky® Notes actually work like its namesake. The display certainly attracts attention and is routinely captured on smart phone videos. (Best if all, it directs Show attendees to TradeNet’s booth!)
TradeNet is the exclusive seller of Slinky® Adhesive Notes with alternating repositionable adhesive at the top of each note. The pads can be ordered in 50- and 100-sheet pads. (Higher per-pad sheet counts can be custom ordered.) Standard and custom shapes available. Notes are printed with four-color process on the front and spot color on the back. Click here for more information.
By the way… Who out there remembers the song from the old Slinky® television commercials?
If your front door to this blog (TradeNetIdeas.com) was TradeNet’s website, then you no doubt noticed things are a bit different. Our home page has been modified.
Changes to TradeNet’s website are designed for improved navigation and use. You’ll not see a dramatic difference in the general appearance, as we didn’t want to rock a boat that was sailing along quite smoothly. TradeNet’s “Products” and “Themes” remain prominent and in the same convenient index format.
The biggest difference is the site is cleaner and the graphic modules have been updated. Two of the site’s most heavily used features – the login box and the search engine – are now in less-bulky drop-down presentations at the top of the page. Also noteworthy is the return of the VIP Club and added emphasis on this blog. The site will be updated on a regular basis with different graphics and promotions and blog content.
Here’s a cool feature that’s in the works: TradeNet’s website will soon be available to distributors as a customizable template. Distributors can either use the template as their own website or as a direct link to TradeNet products. Stay tuned!
